Abdul Aziz - Vice President
Abdul graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) in 1995. Following a successful 11 year career in general practice in New Zealand and Australia, Abdul completed Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (DClinDent) in Endodontics at the University of Otago.
Lance Mundy - Treasurer
Lance graduated from the Otago University School of Dentistry in 2010 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. The following year he worked at Waikato Hospital as a Maxillofacial house surgeon, and in 2012 moved into private practice in Auckland.
Mohamad Al-Dujaili - Honarary Secretary
Mo is a specialist orthodontist who qualified from the University of Otago and practices at Shakespeare Orthodontics in Auckland.
Mowafaq Amso - NZDA Board Representative
It's fantastic to have been a part of the big family of Auckland dentists over the past six and half years. I did my dental training at Otago University and was quite privileged to have had a year at Wellington Hospital as a house officer.
James Dawson
Dr. James Dawson graduated with his dental degree from the University of Otago in 2009. After undertaking a position as a Dental house officer in Auckland, he worked in private practice in Newcastle, Australia. He returned to New Zealand in 2014, to undertake his Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry and gain specialist registration as a Periodontist.
Jeremy Bywater
I graduated with a BDS Otago in 2000 and then spent four years working in West Auckland and on the North Shore, before relocating to Oxford, England for five years, two of which were spent experiencing the NHS, and then London for another five years in private practice. On returning to Auckland in 2015 with my wife and now three children, I am again practicing on the shore in Takapuna, and have now bought into The Dental Experts, formerly Hale Will & Bennison.
Patrick Wong
Patrick is a New Zealand registered prosthodontic specialist and an active member of New Zealand Association of Prosthodontists and Restorative Dentists. He is currently working at 5 St Marks Dental Specialist Centre together with Gilbert Watson as an associate prosthodontist.
Sangeeta Mankal
Sangeeta is the director and principal dentist at QualityCare Dental. She completed her NZREX in 2009 and has since then been working at QualityCare Dental and took over the practice last year.
Sherin Takawi
I graduated from the University of Otago at the end of 2017, and have been working in Auckland since. I work in a practice which sees a mix of public and private patients. I have also recently started work at the Auckland branch of the University of Otago, Faculty of Dentistry, tutoring the final year dental students.
Last year I took on the two year role of Auckland representative for the Young Dentist Action Group for the NZDA. Being a recent graduate myself, I recognise the challenges associated with being new to this profession. Using my ties with the YDAG, the ADA, and the students at the dental school, I hope to encourage and promote the involvement and participation of young dentists in the Auckland region.
